another finish

Last night I finished this design and finished it into an ornament this morning.
A Christmas Song
Full Circle Designs

This is my attempt at an iPad sleeve without a pattern, I came close, I needed about another inch for it to close on the top, but it has a nice pocket inside and one outside and plenty of room to fold over to make it a clutch for a kindle or nook.

Perhaps I'll try another one tomorrow :)

Let it Snow- Finish

Well, I am feeling a little better and wanted to try and get a finish accomplished, this one took a little longer than I wanted but it is what it is and I like the colors, the blues and browns are so pretty together.
perhaps tomorrow I can do another, can't decide if i want to do a soft finish with the snow white or have it framed. will keep you posted. enjoy today, tomorrow is Friday!

new finishes

This is Let it Snow by Country Cottage Needleworks, I think the colors are wonderful and Snow White by Little House of Needleworks. I have everything set up to finish them off on my craft table, now I just have to muster some energy. I've started yet another ornie but I've been under the whether all week with bronchitis, so not much getting done. I finally went to see my doctor and got my meds. Funny I'm not a smoker but having growing up with a father who smoked several packs a day I pay the price with bronchitis several times a year. sigh.
On a positive note, I have been getting some reading done and lots of snuggling in front of a fire with my Duncan while the kids are in school and hubby at work.

Happy Thursday!

Happy to be working on my LHN project, Snow White, using 28 Ct Stoney point linen by Wichelt, the thread is something I have never worked with before; Belle Soie in the Icing color, so far so good and I like the way it is coming out.

I've also finished a shawl this morning using Homespun Yarn and a Infinity scarf all pictured.

Snow is on its way later this afternoon and into tomorrow so I am hoping to make some serious progress. I also bought some finishing buttons for my seasonal exchange gift that I finished stitching last night.
Ciao

First Finish of 2012

My first finish for 2012 is Miss Snow Fairy by With Thy Needle & Thread cone on 36 ct Edinboro Linen. I am happy with the finish, I did leave her wings off as I didn't like them. I ran the piece up to Keepsakes this morning to have framed.
I started two new projects this weekend, a Sisters and Best Friends "Snow Happens" and a LHN winter house. I have also been working on some crochet projects.

decisions decisions...

Well we had our first snow fall of the year, just a dusting yesterday but I loved it, however the dog and I were not impressed with the 9 degree wind chill. He had to put on his coat!
I spent the day working on my noel snow ferry by With thy Needle, and I ran to the store to buy some yarn for a shawl I thought I would make for my dear 85 year old friend back in VA who is always cold. She says my husband is her husband and is just a dear family friend.
I just went through my files trying to decide what I want to make for the seasonal exchange due next month, every time I think I've found the perfect chart, then my eye catches something else. I have it narrowed down to 5...I guess I'll see what my favorite store has in stock of sampler threads and that may narrow my decision too.
I hope everyone has a safe and blessed new year and that we may find joy in our crafts.

Ciao
